Three Hiring Pitfalls to Dodge When Using AI-Driven Recruitment

Many companies we work with fail at crucial parts of the hiring process.  Here are a few AI hiring pitfalls.

  • Most job descriptions substitute years of experience for competency and fail to list the job’s outcomes and the skills required to achieve the company’s desired results. One of our clients had been searching for a year to find a unique candidate and had experienced little success. The job description required 15 years of experience but did little to list needed skills. Using our Living Job Assessment™, the manager specified the skills he needed, allowing him to lower experience requirements and broaden the candidate pool.
  • AI tools need accurate and complete information upfront. Otherwise, you will find candidates who do not meet your needs. The more quality information you give the AI tools, the faster you achieve results. AI can process thousands of candidates overnight, extending your candidate pool far beyond what ordinary recruitment processes can do. For several jobs, for example, we processed over 5000 candidates in a few days.As mentioned in the example above, the manager had been searching for a year and had no success. We found multiple suitable candidates to fill this position in just two weeks.
  • Unrealistic salary ranges slow down searches. Incumbent hard to find candidates will require higher salaries than you might expect.Again, from the above example, we found qualified candidates, but because they were already employed, the salary requirements were out of the range of existing similar positions.
